Our Mission

Our Mission is to provide good quality affordable homes and relevant support services for those in need in the local Bengali and other BME communities.

However, due to the recent expansion of our work with the local communities, many of our clients and residents now also come from the mainstream white community.

Our Vision

Our vision is to enable members of the Bangladeshi community to live in good and well managed homes, to live in harmony with their neighbors,  to stay safe, healthy and active, to be in employment and financially self reliant , to be good citizens, to engage and participate in the local economic and social  improvements in their neighborhoods.   

In line with our vision we are committed to the following Objectives;

• To provide the maximum number of good quality homes each year, working in partnership with the local authorities, the Housing Corporation and other social housing providers.
• To provide a good quality service to our tenants and members of the community
• To be accountable to the communities we serve
• To provide a responsive maintenance service for the benefit of our tenants as well as to keep the properties in good condition
• To manage the Association effectively and efficiently, ensuring that the policies and procedures achieve and exceed the required performance standards
• To provide an environment where management and staff can develop their talents and potential
• To ensure that the principles of equality and opportunity are adhered to in all our areas of work.
• To facilitate and support educational, sports and leisure needs and provide health awareness for the children and adults in the local Bangladeshi community.
• To engage our tenants and members of the community for their input in the way we manage our day to day affairs as well as for our future activities   
• T o help maximize income for those on low income or on benefits, reduce debt and facilitate training to improve employment prospects for those unemployed in the community.
• To make aware members of the community about the different local statutory and voluntary services available to them
• To raise awareness on current national and local issues affecting the community such as climate change and the need to participate in re-cycling household waste and in low carbon emission.
• To work towards elimination of all forms of discrimination that exists in the society and work to breaking  barriers ( lack of English language, misunderstandings between different cultures)  

Where we Work

Bangla is currently working in the London Boroughs of Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest. We are hoping to expand our work to the neighbouring Boroughs of Camden, Tower Hamlets and Newham.
