LBHP Covid-19 And Flu Vaccinations
You will be pleased to know LBHP Co-Chair, Riyadul Karim and LBHP Vice Chair, Khasruz Zaman, participated in an excellent live Bengali TV talk show on Channel S (Sky 777) on October 11th 2024, discussing COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations for the Bangladeshi community.
In addition, Dr Nawsheen Alam, GP, Woodgrange Medical Centre, Forest Gate, answered many questions from callers ringing into the hour-long live broadcast. She spoke extensively in Bangla. Many thanks to Saley Ahmed, Public Health, Tower Hamlets Council. Excellent hosting from Qamarul Islam and valuable contributions about the importance of vaccinations from an Islamic perspective from the Khatib (Imaam) at Abu Sayed Ansarey, Isleworth DEEN Centre. Superb interaction also from Beth (Bethany) Brown, Associate Director, Patient and Community Engagement and Participation, Barts Health NHS Trust. We have received a very good response from the viewers. Please do share this key programme with your Bangladeshi community friends and colleagues!

Delivered by BHA in partnership with the London Bangladeshi Health Partnership (LBHP), V4CE, Dorset Community Association, and supported by Tower Hamlets Public Health and local health providers funded by NHS London, the event took place on 12 November 2025 at the Sundial Community Centre in Bethnal Green.
This year’s Mela had one clear mission: boost vaccination uptake and connect residents with essential health services through trusted people, trusted voices, and trusted places. And it worked. More than 65 local residents attended—leaving with new knowledge, improved confidence, and overwhelmingly positive feedback.
